I began this project when Zhulideh Magazine asked me to contribute to their second edition. The theme of the issue would be “Dreams”, and in the midst of 2020 all I could think about is a sense of isolation and dread. I took the polyethylene scraps I used to layer the Covid-19 masks I’d been making and started making these layered images, and pairing them with entries from my journals from the year. The result is this book.
I made a limited run of printed copies of this book while in residency at Eureka! Mindspace in Kingston, NY in October, 2022.
Photos of the original cloth book below, and print edition documentation to come.
